Shrimp Creole my style

- 1 Large bag of shrimp (about 2-3 pounds) (size: large shrimp) shopping list
- 1 red pepper chopped shopping list
- 1 large onion chopped shopping list
- 2 stalks of celery chopped shopping list
- 3 garlic cloves minced shopping list
- 1/4 cup olive oil shopping list
- 1 tbsp butter shopping list
- 3 tbsp flour shopping list
- 1 (14.5 oz) Fire roasted diced tomatoes shopping list
- 1 (14.5 oz) Petite diced tomatoes shopping list
- 1/2 can of (8 oz) tomatoe sauce shopping list
- 1 can tomatoe paste shopping list
- 2 bay leaves shopping list
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1/4-1/2 cup chili powder shopping list
- 1/4 cup creole seasoning shopping list
- 2 tsp chili sauce shopping list
- 1/2 pkg (16 oz) bag of frozen orka shopping list
- 1/4 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 1/4 cup white wine shopping list
How to make it
- In large dutch oven, heat butter & olive oil.
- Add flour and whisk till smooth
- Add onion, pepper, celery, garlic and cook about 5 minutes or veggies are tender
- Stir in tomatoe products, bay leaves & Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, chili powder, creole seasoning, (salt & pepper to taste)
- Bring to boil and then lower to simmer, add okra.
- Cover and cook about 60 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook about 10-15 minutes longer.
- Serve over rice
- (Optional: Add more hot sauce or chili powder for heat)
