How to make it

  • In dutch oven: saute sausage (crumbled) until no longer pink,
  • Remove with slotted spoon,
  • (Mix chop meat with top section of ingredients (eggs, garlic, dried onion, parsley, cheese, bread crumbs, Italian Seasoning, salt & pepper))
  • Roll meat into 1" size meatballs and saute in pan with oil (you may need to add a little more, so they do not stick)
  • Remove meatballs
  • Saute veggies till tender
  • Add red wine and scrap bottom of pan,
  • Add Broth, tomatoes in can bring to boil
  • Lower heat and add balance of ingredients
  • Bring to slow boil
  • Cover and bake at 325 for about 2 hours (too long and the meatballs will begin to fall apart)
  • Serve over pasta, mashed potatoes or with a good loaf of bread
