Mikes Costa Del Sol
From elgourmand 14 years agoIngredients
- • The original Costa del Sol was one measure of Campbell’s beef Bullion (not the gelled consume), one measure of decent vodka and ¼ - ½ measure of fresh lemon juice (to taste). I have used Real Time lemon juice and it works fine. shopping list
- I went back to Casa Blanca a couple years later and Mike and I played around with the recipe a bit and came up with the following variation. shopping list
- • One measure of Campbell’s beef Bullion, one measure of London Dry type gin (Tanqueray & Gordon’s work well) and ½ measure of lemon juice. The gin seems to work better after sundown. shopping list
How to make it
- All ingredients must be at room temperature.
- In a large glass pitcher filled with crushed ice mix
- 1. 1 can Campbell’s Beef Bullion
- 2. 1 can good vodka or gin (your choice)
- 3. ¼ - ½ can lemon juice (please no frozen or concentrates)
- 4. Stir gently until everything is the same temp. Add ice as necessary. and serve in an old fashioned glass or best in a simple clay mug. Mike is sophisticated and likes a Martini glass but that's too posh, and risky, for me
- I had my first Costa in a nicely appointed restaurant but I always enjoy them most on a beautiful sunny day near the shore. Please, don’t leave the pitcher out in the sun, the ice melts too quickly. Cover it with a towel if necessary. Bravo, esplendido!!
