Ingredients

  • • The original Costa del Sol was one measure of Campbell’s beef Bullion (not the gelled consume), one measure of decent vodka and ¼ - ½ measure of fresh lemon juice (to taste). I have used Real Time lemon juice and it works fine. shopping list
  • I went back to Casa Blanca a couple years later and Mike and I played around with the recipe a bit and came up with the following variation. shopping list
  • • One measure of Campbell’s beef Bullion, one measure of London Dry type gin (Tanqueray & Gordon’s work well) and ½ measure of lemon juice. The gin seems to work better after sundown. shopping list

How to make it

  • All ingredients must be at room temperature.
  • In a large glass pitcher filled with crushed ice mix
  • 1. 1 can Campbell’s Beef Bullion
  • 2. 1 can good vodka or gin (your choice)
  • 3. ¼ - ½ can lemon juice (please no frozen or concentrates)
  • 4. Stir gently until everything is the same temp. Add ice as necessary. and serve in an old fashioned glass or best in a simple clay mug. Mike is sophisticated and likes a Martini glass but that's too posh, and risky, for me
  • I had my first Costa in a nicely appointed restaurant but I always enjoy them most on a beautiful sunny day near the shore. Please, don’t leave the pitcher out in the sun, the ice melts too quickly. Cover it with a towel if necessary. Bravo, esplendido!!

One for the books. Just so happens we are attending a party tomorrow. Will have to make up a batch to carry in. We have not had the honor of savoring this drink yet, but know by the sound of it that it must be smooth and tasty. Can not wait to try it! Do not think that we will give away the ingredients until family and friends have already tasted it tomorrow afternoon. I will get back with you on what happens next!

Mikes Costa Del Sol Sounds Like Something I Would Enjoy! Thank You for Sharing This with Me...The Story Still Gets A '5', As Well As The Drinks Description! And I Think with One of These I Would Be Just A Little Tipsy! HeHeHe!
