Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

- 8 ounces penne pasta shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 red pepper, diced shopping list
- 1/2 pound portobello mushrooms, diced shopping list
- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled shopping list
- 1 jar alfredo sauce (16oz) shopping list
- 1/2 cup grated romano cheese shopping list
- 1/2 cup cream shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside
- Melt butter with olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat
- Stir in onion, and cook until softened, about 2 minutes
- Stir in garlic, red pepper, and mushrooms
- Cook over medium high heat until soft, about 2 minutes more
- Stir in the shrimp and cook until firm and pink
- Pour in Alfredo sauce, romano cheese and cream
- Bring to a simmer stirring constantly until thickened, about 5 minutes
- Season with cayenne, salt and pepper
- Stir pasta into sauce and mix till heated through
- Serve sprinkled with fresh parsley if wanted

Homemede Alfredo sauce is so easy to make. It would be wonderful with this recipe since you already have most of the ingredients. Bet it will be good.
