How to make it

  • 1. Crumble sausage into skillet and brown over medium heat, breaking apart with a spatula, until meat is no long pink. Scoot the pan off the burner, and with slotted spoon, remove meat from pan and set aside.
  • 2. Pour evaporated milk into a 1-quart measuring pitcher and dilute with enough water to make one quart total. Add enough oil, if needed, to cover bottom of pan (about a 1/2 cup total). Stir flour into pan and lightly add seasonings. When flour mixture is slightly brown, gradually stir in milk mixture.
  • 3. Reduce heat and allow to thicken, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. Return sausage to pan and heat through. Adjust seasoning and serve.

Oh, man...I can't let my husband onto this one! He LOVES sausage gravy and biscuits! I've always told him I don't know how to make it(;p)...he has high cholesterol, so I only fix treats like this on special occasions. haha. I'll have to surprise him with for brunch soon. Thanks for a great recipe...which will make my husband really happy!
