Steak in Sauce Recipe

How to make it

  • saute onions and pepper
  • add chopped spring onions and cook quickly
  • add steak, season with salt and pepper
  • add water if pan becomes to dry
  • add grated ginger and cook over low heat for 5 minutes
  • add coconut milk and simmer for a further 10 minutes
  • meanwhile, boil the fragrant rice
  • when most of the coconut milk has evaporated add the cooked rice and quickly
  • ensure all the rice is coated with the mixture
  • serve and garnish with a sprig of coriander

    Everything in there sounds good to me :) As far as fragrant rice, multiple varieties qualify, including both basmati and jasmine. These are significantly different types of rice in everything from flavor to the amount of water needed to cook them; I'd personally use jasmine for this.

    Fragrant rice is what its called in South Africa. I believe its called Basmati or Jasmine rice in other places. Let me know whether you've found it at any point.
