How to make it

  • Peel onions, leaving root ends intact.
  • Cut each onion into eighths, cutting to, but not through root ends.
  • Place each onion ona slightly greased square of foil
  • Press butter into onions; sprinkle with salt, pepper and cheese
  • Wrap onions in foil and arrange in a 13X9 inch pan.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour.

    This will be a sweet,sweet,sweet recipe.

    Vidalias are in a short season here,but,when I am able to aquire some,I have printed your recipe out.Some of these onions are so sweet that you can almost eat them like an apple...I don't,but have seen some who have.
