Vanilla Bean Angel Pillows

- 1 1/2 c. flour shopping list
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar shopping list
- 1/4 c. cornstarch shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise shopping list
- 1 c. cold butter, cubed shopping list
- 1/4 c. vanilla sugar(how to under directions)(if desired, just use regular sugar as it takes about 1 week to make vanilla sugar) shopping list
- 2 c. sugar shopping list
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350
- Combine flour, powdered sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a food processor, cover and process until combined.
- Using the tip of a sharp knife, scrape out the seeds from the vanilla bean, discard pod or reserve for another use
- Add vanilla seeds and butter to the flour mixture
- cover, and process by pulsing several times until mixture starts to cling, stop once to scrape sides of the bowl
- Form the mixture into a ball
- Shape into 1 1/4 in. balls
- place 2 in. apart on an ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake about 12 minutes or until the edges start to brown
- Transfer to a wire rack, cool about 5 minutes
- place vanilla sugar in a small bowl, roll cookies in the sugar while they are still warm, the sugar will coat better when the cookies are warm.
- to make vanilla sugar:
- Bury a split vanilla bean in a container with 2 cups of sugar.
- cover tightly and place in a cool dark place, allow to stand about 1 week.
