Salsa De Arbol

- 4 dried arbol chilies,stemmed shopping list
- 1 lb plum tomatoes,halved shopping list
- 1/2 white onion,chopped shopping list
- 1 clove garlic,minced shopping list
- 1 tsp dried oregano(preferably Mexican) shopping list
- juice of 1 lime shopping list
- pinch of sugar shopping list
- kosher salt shopping list
- Fresh cilantro,for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Toast the chilies in dry skillet or saucepan over med-low heat,shaking pan ,about 2 mins. Pour 1/2 c boiling water on top,cover and let soak 15 mins.
- Meanwhile ,preheat grill pan to high. Grill tomatoes,turning till charred. Transfer to food processor. Add chilies and soaking water,onion,garlic,oregano,lime juice,sugar and 1-1/4 tsp salt;pulse till chunky. Set aside,about 1 hour. Garnish with cilantro.
