For Gluten free - Use rice flour or corn meal to dust outside - think about "stuffing them" with cooked veggies or any kind of leftovers. My Grandmas used to make these and they were GREAT Depression cooks. patmcc

I made this tonight and topped them with a little grated parmesan when they came out of the skillet. They tasted great - I'd like to try them as a side for a breakfast dish.

I just made these today and they are wonderful.I rolled mine in panko bread crumbs and then baked them @ 400 for 5 min. because I made them a bit thick and my better half will not eat anything that has crunchy onions.Baking them off totally cooked the onion. Thanks for a great recipe.
