How to make it

  • Wash, hull and slice strawberries.
  • Sprinkle with sugar and balsamic vinegar, and stir .
  • Let sit at room temperature for a few hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Bake frozen shells as per package directions.
  • While warm dust generously with confectioners sugar.
  • To assemble, cut “lids” from patty shells with a shape knife and set aside.
  • Fill hollow of shell with whipping cream, add a liberal amount of berries with juice.
  • Top with a dollop of whipped cream.
  • Garnish with “lids” - unless you have already eaten them.
