How to make it

  • Pie crust if desired_ Make pie crust brush crust with little milk and bake 10 minutes before adding filling
  • Whip all custard ingredient together pour into reg size pie pn
  • Place in top rack of oven
  • On bottom rack place another pan filled halfway up with water
  • Bake pie at 400 degrees for 15 minutes
  • Turn oven down to 350 and bake additional 30-40 minutes
  • until knife inserted comes out clean

    This is great custard! I put nutmeg and sugar on top before baking. I bake custard without crust.
