This is sooo good! Brown sugar fudge is my absoIute favourite. I want to try browning the butter before adding the sugar. Does anyone know how this would work?

Thanks! My Grandmother always made fudge with brown sugar, cream, vanilla and "butter the size of an egg." It could get pretty grainy if you didn't cook it JUST right. Adding the icing sugar at the end of this recipe helps to smooth out that problem. My Grandmother didn't use a thermometer, but instead drizzled a bit of the hot syrup in a cup of cold water to see if it formed a ball. To me that was the very best part to eat!

If you try this recipe, any suggestions as to how long step 7 should be would be appreciated, that's the part I'm still working on. So maybe I shouldn't have called it No Fail, but it really is a pretty forgiving candy to make.
