Green Bean Egg Bake Recipe
Talk about a twist, but a surprisingly great flavour combination. The eggs add an incredible creaminess to the sauce, and the honey adds a hint of sweetness. Really good.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, cut into 1" pieces (can also use frozen)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose fluor
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 hard-cooked eggs, coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups grated Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp melted butter

Directions
  1. Blanche beans about 3 minutes in boiling, salted water; drain well.
  2. Make a white sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan. Add flour and stir-cook for 2 minutes. Whisk in milk and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat for a few minutes to thicken. Stir in honey, yogurt and salt and whisk to combine. Remove from heat.
  3. Layer eans, eggs and cheese in a casserole dish and pour sauce over all. Combine bread crumbs with butter and sprinkle over top of dish.
  4. Bake at 350F for about 20 minutes until bubbly.
