How to make it

  • Sift dry ingredients.
  • Slowly stir in milk and mix until dough forms. Add more flour as necessary to make dough easy to handle.
  • Knead dough on floured board for a minute or two.
  • Divide dough and form into balls (if making Indian Tacos, aproximately 5 balls of dough, otherwise make smaller for enjoying with honey, etc)
  • Pat dough into a flat round with a depression (almost a hole) in the center of both sides.
  • Fry in oil (approximately 375 degrees) until golden on both sides.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • For Indian tacos, just add your favorite taco toppings, fold and enjoy!

Oops. I thought it was the frybread taco recipe that inspired me, I totally forgot about this. I'll change the intro right now.

I love frybread, and have made it before, but not ever with milk. I'm gonna give this a go soon.

It's taken me several years and advice from the ladies at several rancherias but my frybread is pretty dang good now.
