How to make it

  • Boil raisins in 1 cup water for 10 minutes
  • Then cool DO NOT DRAIN
  • Cream sugar and shortening
  • Add eggs
  • Add all remaining ingredients including water from raisins
  • Spray bundt pan
  • Pour into prepared pan
  • Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until done

    I just got an excellent mix of dried berries from NutsOnline. Since - unlike myself - my family hates cooked raisins, I've been looking for a recipe to make the berry substitution. This looks like the ticket - thanks!
