Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

- For Cake: shopping list
- 2 cups all purpose flour, sifted shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 4 tablespoons hersheys cocoa shopping list
- 6 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt shopping list
- 1 cup whole milk shopping list
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional) shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- 2 cups packed light or dark brown sugar shopping list
- 3 cups hot water shopping list
- 1/2 cup hersheys cocoa shopping list
- freshly whipped cream, to serve shopping list
How to make it
- For cake: mix all dry ingredients together. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla and mix until smooth (you may add a little more milk if it's too dry still). You basically want a thick cake batter, like a brownie batter actually. Pour into a lightly buttered baking dish.
- For topping: Place cocoa and brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Slowly whisk in hot water. Pour over batter (yes, that's right!) and bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Sift powdered sugar over it (if desired). Serve hot or warm, with whipped cream.
