How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 475.
  • Cut shortening into flour then gradually add milk.
  • Generously grease a small cast iron skillet.
  • Drop large spoonfuls of batter into skillet then bake 5 minutes and remove from oven and pour melted butter over top.
  • Return to oven and bake 15 minutes longer.
