For fruit Salsa
- 2 fresh pears, diced shopping list
- 2 cups mixed fresh(or frozen, thawed) berries ie strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc shopping list
- juice from 1/2 lime or 1/4 of a lemon shopping list
- 1T honey shopping list
- 1t vanilla shopping list
- 1-2t fresh mint, chopped shopping list
For cinnamon Chips
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1T cinnamon shopping list
- wonton wrappers(round, if possible) shopping list
- oil for frying shopping list
Additional Toppings
- 2 medium bananas, diced shopping list
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut shopping list
- 1/2 cup thick caramel sauce(recipe below, or store bought) shopping list
How to make it
For Fruit Salsa
- Combine pears, berries, honey, mint, citrus juice and vanilla in medium glass bowl.
- Toss well and set aside. See Photo
For Cinnamon Chips
- Heat oil to about 350.
- In large zipper bag, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Fry wontons, a few at a time, for about 2 minutes, until browned and crispy.
- Drain slightly and immediately toss into zipper bag with cinnamon/sugar.
- Give it a lil shake, then remove them and set aside.
- Continue with remaining wontons to get servings required.
To Serve
- Arrange wonton chips on serving plate. See Photo
- Add banana pieces See Photo
- Drizzle with caramel sauce See Photo
- Top with fruit salsa, then coconut. See Photo
- Add whipped cream, if desired.
For Thick Caramel Sauce
- **If making your own sauce, please prepare it, first.
- 2T butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2T honey or light corn syrup
- about 3oz sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- In small, heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium low heat.
- Add brown sugar, honey and milk. Stir and increase heat slightly
- Heat to boil while stirring constantly.
- Boil about 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Stir and set aside, but do not refrigerate, until ready to use.
