Fish Pie

- 200g fresh, raw tiger prawns shopping list
- 200g fresh, raw unsmoked haddock shopping list
- 200g fresh raw pollock shopping list
- 100g fresh, raw and prepered squid shopping list
- 400g potatoes shopping list
- 150g mushrooms shopping list
- 1 lrg white onion shopping list
- 2 medium cloves garlic shopping list
- 3/4- 1 pint milk shopping list
- sweetcorn shopping list
- 2 hard boiled eggs shopping list
- cheddar cheese shopping list
- flat leaf parsley shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- salt shopping list
- pepper shopping list
- Plan flour shopping list
- unsalted butter shopping list
How to make it
- In a large frying pan bring the milk to a steady simmer with the bay leaf, salt and peper
- Add the haddock, pollock prawns, squid, onions, garlic and mushrooms to the milk and continue simmering until the fish is cooked
- Whilst you are doing this boil the potatoes in salted water, once they are cooked mash them up with butter, milk, salt and pepper until smooth and creamy
- Now remove the fish, onions, garlic and mushrooms from the milk and put in a large oven-proof dish (take out the bay leaf too and throw away)Flake the fish into smaller pieces and check for small bones
- Add the sweetcorn and the 2 hard boiled eggs that have been cut into quarters
- Now make a rue using the plan flour and butter, cook out for a few minutes
- Slowly add the milk that the fish has been poached in to make a smooth white sauce (stirring at all times)
- Add the cheese and 1 table spoon of finely chopped flat leaf parsley to the white sauce, stir and pour over the fish, vegetables and eggs
- Now cover with the creamy mashed potatoes, leave the top of the pie nice and bumpy and sprinkle with a bit of grated cheese
- Put in the oven (180 degrees) for appox 30 minutes
- Serve with a lovely crispy salad

Going to have to use snapper rather than Haddock and octopus in place of squid (that's Samoa) but I think it will still be a 5.
