How to make it

  • First you want to take a soup pot, and then cook sausage over medium flame until no pink remains.
  • Next add onions, celery, and carrots.
  • Let this cook uncovered approx. 5 minutes, or until onions are tender
  • Then add tomatoes, chicken broth, cabbage, and basil.
  • You want to let this come to a boil.
  • Next you can stir in macaroni, and cover.
  • Let this cook on low for approx. 10 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
  • Finally you can season with garlic salt.
  • Serve.

    Sausage Soup

    eastcoaster ate it and said...
    I used Mild Italian Sausage which i took out of the casings and made into balls. I don't have garlic salt so i minced one garlic clove. I browned the sausage first then drained the bit of fat that was left. I followed the ing. of the recipe but not so much the directions. After i added the vegetables i let it simmer for about one hour so the flavors could meld. I never cook the noodles with the soup because if there are leftovers the noodles suck up the juice and get mushy. I cook them on the side and add to the bowl. I didn't have bow tie so i used circle pasta.
    I used my own chicken broth and added a bit of salt and pepper to taste. I also forgot to add the tomatoes, but it was still tasty.
    To me soup has to simmer a while so the flavors combine.

    I can tell by the ingredients that this soup is going to be the bomb. Based on the ingredients this recipe can be made any day of the week. Just add your own spin with additional herbs.
