My great-grandmothers yeast rolls. I've never tasted any like them! I did my best to copy the recipe, but she never measured and mine never taste quite like hers!

Ingredients
  • 5 cups flour
  • 3 Tbs sugar
  • 1 Tsp baking soda
  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup shortening

Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients together, cover and refrigerate over night
  2. Roll out; cut (she cut them into squares) and let rise 1-2 hours
  3. Bake 350 degrees; about 15 minutes
