Ingredients

How to make it

  • saute chopped celery, onion, and bell pepper in about a tbl of oil. When soft add cut up sausage and lightly brown.
  • add in can of Rotel tomatoes and take the can of tomato paste and put in container and mix a cup of chicken broth with it( you want it to have the consistency look of tomato sauce). Add to pan.
  • Season with pepper, garlic powder, bay leaf, and cajun seasoning to taste. You can add the red pepper flakes if you would like a little more heat.
  • Cover and let simmer for about 20-30 min.
  • Last step, add the cleaned shrimp and cover and let cook for about 15 minutes till shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  • You can add a little corn starch slurry to thicken if needed and give gravy a nice glossy sheen.
  • Serve over steamed rice.
