From tinam 18 years agoIngredients
- Materials (makes one lantern): shopping list
- One 8-ounce (22 gm) can of Mexican chilies shopping list
- 3 pieces of chain or coiled color wire, 8" (20.5 cm) each shopping list
- Jump rings, 3/8" (1 cm) shopping list
- Dangling charm shopping list
- Glass votive holder shopping list
- Votive or tea light candle shopping list
- Hand drill shopping list
- Can opener shopping list

How to make it
- Remove the top of the can. Empty, thoroughly clean, and dry the can. Sand the edges at the ridge to remove any sharp points.
- Drill three holes at the top of the can (just below the ridge) in a triangular fashion, in order to attach the chains. Drill two holes close together at the bottom of the can. Attach a jump ring to each hole at the top and one through the two holes at the bottom.
- Hook one chain strip to each jump ring. Gather them at the top and connect with two jump rings. Add a dangling chain to the bottom jump ring.
- Insert the glass votive holder and candle into the can.
- Hang and light.
- Tip: Try hanging one with a Guatemalan necklace, or remove the label and paint/glitter your own design onto it.
