Oatmeal Cookies For Everyone Recipe
Chewy, tiny oatmeal raisin cookies made with Splenda and applesauce.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Splenda Granular
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup quick rolled oats (not instant)
  • 1/2 cup raisins or currants

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Stir together the sugar, Splenda and applesauce.
  3. Seperately, mix dry ingredients except oats and raisins.
  4. Blend dry ingredients into the sugar mixture.
  5. Fold in oats and raisins until combined.
  6. Drop balls onto a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake 8 minutes, then cool 3 minutes before removing cookies from tray.

Sorry to bring this to everyone's notice, but Splenda IS NOT as safe as it sounds, and comes with lots of side effects and toxins...read an article at http://funnfud.blogspot.com/2007/08/splenda-does-more-harm-than-good.html
for some more information...its better to use less sugar than use artificial sweeteners...


Technically nothing is safe, if we believe the hype, but this isn't necessarily something we're downing gallons of! They are treats and meant to be such, just like any other cookie.


Used 1/2 cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend in place of sugar/splenda mix, increased cinnamon to 3/4 tsp, baked 10 miutes (8 min. too doughy), cooked large Braeburn apple 5 min. in microwave with little water in covered micro bowl and mashed cooked apple for sauce. Good cookie for Type 2 Diabetic.
