Buttermilk Chess Pie

A great pie, one of my favorites.
Ingredients
- 2 cups white sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour shopping list
- 5 eggs shopping list
- 2/3 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1/2 cup melted butter shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- In a large bowl, combine sugar and flour. Beat in the eggs and buttermilk until blended. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla. Pour filling into the pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until filling is set. ( I usually cook it 60 minutes in my oven, but in my grandmother's oven it only takes 45. So the cooking time really depends on your oven.)
