Strawberry Shortcake Biscuits

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small chunks shopping list
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 cup cream, half and half, or milk...(I used half and half) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven 375 and place rack in middle of oven Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
- Cut butter into flour mixture with a pastry blender or a couple forks until
- mixture looks like coarse crumbs
- In another mixing bowl, whisk together egg, cream and vanilla
- Add to flour mixture, mixing just until dough comes together
- Do not over mix
- Transfer to lightly floured surface and knead dough gently four or five times
- Roll dough into 7 inch round
- With 3 inch round cookie cutter, cut out rounds and place on parchment lined baking sheet
- Brush tops with a little cream
- Bake 15 - 20 minutes or until nicely browned
- Cool on wire rack See Photo
