How to make it

  • In medium saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and salt. Mash with a potato masher or wooden spoon until the berries have released their juices.
  • Cook over med-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has thickened,18 to 25 mins. Transfer to containers and refrigerate for up to a month or freeze up to 1 year.
  • You can also make this with 2 (10 oz) bags of frozen berries,Cook berries 2 to 3 mins before mashing, then reduce total cooking time to 15 to 17 mins.

I am so glad I tried this! It was delicious, easy and quick! I only used 2 cups of blueberries cause that's what I had so I got the measurements as close as I could. Because I cut down the recipe I only needed about 12 minutes of cooking time to get it the right consistency. My daughter loves it so much and rates it a 20 ;) Thanks Pleclare!

Delicious! :) I did sub honey for the sugar(and, I only used about 2T, and it was plenty sweet for us :), for personal preference, and I mashed the berries up pretty good. I love natural fresh fruit spreads, and LOVE fresh blueberries, so this was a given. Thanks, pleclare! I added my photo.
