Ingredients

How to make it

  • In bowl of electric mixer, beat cream cheese with 1/2 cup powdered sugar until fluffy and smooth.
  • Add lemon juice and fruit spread and beat well.
  • Remove to a large bowl and set aside.
  • Rinse bowl, ending with COLD water, then hand dry with clean towel or paper towels(you don't want the bowl warm)
  • Now beat whipping cream with vanilla, and remaining 1/4 cup of sugar at high speed until stiff peaks form.
  • Add about 1/2 of the whipped cream mixture to the cream cheese mixture, and hand stir until well combined. You don't have to be gentle with this.
  • Add remaining whipped cream mixture and GENTLY fold until combined.
  • Refrigerate covered in large bowl or in individual serving bowls, for at least 1 hour.

Light, smooth, creamy, delicious. Stands tall in the serving dish.
See Blue Mousse for a drool report.
Also used the blueberry jam recipe in the list of ingredients.

    I'd like to make this.
Question: Is this a mousse like texture or an ice cream like texture. The pic looks like ice cream.

Hey now. I might just try this with different flavors, like tarragon. Imagine tarragon mousse with steak? Or apricot, cinnamon and brandy-infused mousse with pork. Om nom nom. You could conceivably create an entire menu centered around mousse-based dishes. Wait, why am I giving out all my brilliant ideas??
