How to make it

  • Preheat oven to
  • Heat olive oil over med heat in non stick pan
  • Add garlic and cook until golden brown, constantly stirring
  • Remove casing from sausages
  • Add sausage to pan, break apart and cook until golden brown
  • Remove from heat and add to medium sized bowl
  • Allow sausage to slightly cool
  • In the meantime, dust your countertop with flour and roll out pizza dough Cut into 6" circles with cookie cutter or rim of a glass
  • Place dough cut-outs on a greased cookie sheet and set aside
  • Add ricotta, mozzarella, basil, oregano, salt and pepper to sausage and mix to combine.
  • Place a few spoonfuls of filling on each circle of dough, fold over and use a fork to seal edges
  • Brush the tops of each calzone with egg white
  • Bake at 400 F until golden brown (about 12 minutes)
  • Serve with homemade marinara sauce
