How to make it

  • Take a muddler and crush a piece of fresh ginger in the bottom of an old fashioned glass with a splash of bourbon and one twist of lemon peel. Crush it hard. Really pulverize it.
  • When it has given up all it's flavor.
  • Put the ginger, splash of bourbon and lemon peel mixture into a cocktail shaker.
  • Add a hefty shot bourbon.
  • Add maple syrup
  • Add fresh lemon juice
  • Add a few big ice cubes
  • Shake Shake Shake.
  • Strain over a tumbler of ice.
  • Add cinnamon stick as stirrer.
  • Sit back and enjoy........all the better if there is a hockey game on...but then I digress.
