How to make it

  • Topping mix with fingers to crumble into chunky pieces:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter cold
  • Mix unitl just combined the shortening, sugar, egg, flour, salt, baking powder and milk. Gently fold in 3/4 cup of the berries last. Dough will be thick. Place in springform pan that is sprayed with pam or buttered. Take the rest of the berries and add tablespoon sugar and teaspoon flour and mix. Place berries on top of the dough Then place the topping on top. Bake for 75 minutes @ 350 check after 60 minutes. This is excellent.

    Hi..I printed this out today and made it today too. I used frozen Blueberries thawed and rinsed them first, subsituted margarine for the butter and where it says use 1/2 sugar..I cut in half 1/4 splenda and 1/4 reg sugar and in the crumbly mixture as well. I need to watch my cholestrol and weight is all otherwise would have made orginal recipe for sure but I got to tell I will make again and again. This was simple, yet can be served at elegant events. This was awsom!!!!

    Will be trying this recipe.Love blueberries and this sounds very good and easy to make.Thank for sharing.Guess frozen berries would work.
