This was a first for me. In Portugal we use grits for baking and thickening winter soups only. I had to make some changes in the saucy shrimp recipe, used chorizo instead of sausage because that is what I had. I had no idea what breakfast sausage is... I bet it is tasty ;) I also replaced the old bay seasoning (it is not available in Portuguese supermarkets) by mixed herbs. It was fantastic. I will definitely make it other times. The grits are creamy and so tasty. A new favorite for me.
