    Lindy, thank you sooooo much-- THIS IS IT! This is the recipe my Mom used to make; she called it "banana tea bread" and didn't put in the walnuts (I do). The original recipe also called for souring the milk with lemon juice, so it must be the same one -- it tastes right and has exactly the correct moisture without being soggy. Many thanks yet again!

    Very similar to my recipe. My mama always said the riper the banana, the better the bread. She would use bananas that were really, really ripe. Thanks for sharing :-)
