Ingredients
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 (28 ounce) jar traditional style spaghetti sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 9 dry lasagna noodles (I cook a few extra just in case a noodle or two self destructs)
  • 2 (6 ounce) packages deli-style mozzarella cheese slices (you'll need 12 slices total)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
  3. Meanwhile, brown ground beef in a large skillet; drain fat.
  4. Sprinkle meat with onion powder.
  5. Add spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce and Italian seasoning.
  6. Mix well. Set aside.
  7. Drain noodles.
  8. Spray a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  9. Add a layer of sauce to pan.
  10. Top sauce with 3 lasagna noodles.
  11. Top noodles with more sauce.
  12. Top sauce with enough mozzarella cheese slices to cover in a single layer (6 slices).
  13. Top cheese with 3 more noodles, sauce, 6 more cheese slices.
  14. Top cheese with remaining 3 noodles and sauce.
  15. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Top Parmesan with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  16. Bake 35 to 45 minutes (watch closely after 30 minutes to make sure cheese does not over brown).
  17. Let sit 10-15 minutes before serving.

Sounds wonderful. Thanks for the great post.

I am going to print this out,I usually use Cottage Cheese,I like the idea of dropping the ricotta and just using the mozzarella.
Like your photo Mrs.Potatohead, that was one of my favorite toys as a child.

This sounds great!

Looks yummy!

I love lasagne but hate ricotta/cottage. I usually BARELY use any in mine, actually just enough so I can call it "four cheese"! You should check mine out! This would be a good way to make a little change from the norm!

Yeah, I don't care much for ricotta or cottage, but I'm usually outvoted, so I just use a little dab, lol!! Hope you don't mind, I added it to the picky eaters group...

This is great! I never bake this because my kids do not like the Ricotta!!! I think they will love It!!! I'll let ya know.
Thanks so much,
