How to make it

  • Use pliable anchos.
  • Preheat oven to 300F.
  • Slice anchos down the side and remove seeds and veins.
  • Splay open anchos and bake on small baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  • Cool; cut up; blend to a powder in a spice/coffee grinder.
  • Add additional ingredients and blend again.
  • Store in a repurposed spice container.
  • Clean grinder by grinding up a tablespoon or two of rice to powder a couple of times to remove any oils from the chile mix so there won't be any surprises next time you use the grinder.

There is something that I need to tell you. When I write a recipe down that I tend to write [http://www.grouprecipes/whatever thenumberssays/and-the-name-of-the-recipe-along-with-the-name] on the back of the note book paper into my book that I have for all my recipes. What can I say.I like to be organized and knowing where I had found the recipe at.I thought that you ought to know and hope that you don't mind at all.

I'm not especially fond of buying spice blends. I have enough bottles taking up space and appreciate when I can mix my own with what I already have purchased. I would cut this down to not make so much. Thank you for saving me from buying another bottle or tin of whatever.
