How to make it

  • Combine berries, zest and juice in a bowl
  • Sprinkle with sugar; scrape the "seeds" from inside the vanilla pod and add to fruit. Toss fruit with liquid mixture.
  • Cover and let sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or until fruit releases some juice.
  • I like to add the scraped-out pods to my current brew of homemade vanilla, or to a container of sugar (to make vanilla sugar, for future use!)
