I tried this again with diner fries. They have more grease in them and it worked a lot better! I added another picture.

I was in Burger King territory today so I picked up a large order of fries so I could try this. I just have a plain ol' waffle maker - not a Belgian one so I cooked them until the green light came on, lifted the lid until it turned red again and then cooked until the green light. Probably about 10 minutes. I'd like to try these with some greasier fries. I think Burger King has gone healthy on me or something. They got nice and crisp though and much improved the BK fry, which we all know is inferior to McDonald's. :-) I added a picture and a thread in IMI. 3/13/14
