Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oil, add garlic, sage and basil in large sauce pan.
  • Add thinly sliced bread.
  • Brown both sides.
  • Bring broth to boil in a different saucepan.
  • Put chopped tomatoes into bread mixture.
  • Pour in broth.
  • Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 40 minutes.
  • Taste, add salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Pour into a tureen or individual bowls.
  • Serve with grated cheese. Enjoy!

    Pappa al Pomodoro...Tuscan Tomato Bread Soup....I love this; sometimes have it instead of Panzanella Salad. You would like Ribollita probably too -- Tuscan Vegetable Bread Soup...Thanks for the post!
