How to make it

  • Cook bacon or sausage and crumble. Toss together meat, Parmesan cheese, and next 3 ingredients; arrange in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish, coated generously with butter.
  • Whisk together milk and next 3 ingredients until fully mixed. Pour over meat /croissant mixture.
  • Top with additional 1 cup grated cheese.
  • Cover dish and refrigerate overnight - this can also be baked immediately, if you want
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover and bake 45-50 minutes or until golden. Let stand 10 minutes. If top gets too brown while baking, lay a piece of foil loosely over the top of the casserole, and remove it the last 10 minutes to allow top to crisp nicely.

    Made this for hubby`s and my breakfast this morning. I used a very hot Jalopeno ground sausage which set my mouth on fire. Next time I`d like to try it with bacon. I love that you can make it ahead of time the night before and then bake and serve the next morning and when we get our next round of company, I shall try this again. Thanks Krumkake! More in IMI11
