Chicken Maybe, Asian Slaw

For the Slaw
- 4 Cups shredded cabbage of choice (1 small) shopping list
- 1 medium carrot, shredded shopping list
- 1/2 Red Pepper, medium dice shopping list
- 1/2 Green Pepper, medium dice shopping list
- 3 Green Onions diced shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons Sesame Seeds shopping list
- 1/2 Cup sliced almonds shopping list
To turn it into a Main Dish Salad
- 2 Cups cooked chicken, diced (optional) shopping list
For the Dressing
- 1 clove Garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon Pickled or Fresh Ginger, minced shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons Honey shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons Rice Wine Vinegar shopping list
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Chinese Hot Mustard shopping list
- 1/8-1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes shopping list
How to make it
- Run your knife through the cabbage to make a dice instead of long strips. Place in a large bowl along with the rest of the Slaw ingredients.
- Whisk together the Dressing ingredients in a small bowl. Add 1/2 to slaw mixture, stir, add a little more, stir. Keep adding until you get the slaw moist but not runny. I never quite use all of the dressing. I save the rest to use on tossed salad.
- If serving as a main dish, top 1 cup of slaw with 1/2 cup diced cold chicken. I don't mix the chicken with the slaw as the chicken does not last as long in the fridge as the slaw is able to.
