Ingredients

How to make it

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil
  • Peel the sausage and cut into small pieces
  • Cook in a non stick pan without adding any oil until golden brown
  • Remove from heat and set aside
  • Cook the Pasta, when almost ready, add the sausage back into the pan
  • Add ricotta to pan with sausage and mix well
  • Drain the pasta and toss it in the pan with the sausage and ricotta mixture
  • Add a couple of twists of black pepper.
  • Serve while hot.

    Jan 17 2017 this is another fantastic recipe by Manella. My DH commented on how fanatic it was. Now I did have to tweak for my family like which LOL is they need to see the meat. So I used 400 g of penne, 600 g (1 and half lbs) sausage meat and 300 g of ricotta cheese. I also added a medium onion diced and some diced mushrooms as I was frying the sausages. I did add a little cream cheese as I knew that I did not add enough ricotta so next time I make this wonderful recipe I will defiantly increase the ricotta to equal the weight of the meat. This error is the cooks not the submitter.

    Made this tonight for the first time and was amazed at how easy such a rich and tasty dish can come together. The flavour was really nice...I followed the recipe exactly just adding a little bit of the pasta water to the skillet with the ricotta near the end.I used mild italian sausage and next time I might try the hot. I doubled the recipe and there were still no leftovers..... Thumbs way up!!!
