How to make it

  • Soak all bamboo skewers in warm water for at least 20 minutes
  • *Shrimp Skewers*
  • Combine all ingredients and allow to marinade for at least 30 minutes
  • Stick 2 shrimps on each soaked bamboo skewer and grill for about 2 minutes on each side, untill orange.
  • Do not overcook!!!
  • *Chicken Satay*
  • Combine all ingredients and allow to marinade for at least 30 minutes
  • Skewer each chicken strip lenghtwise with a soaked bamboo Skewer and grill for about 5 minutes on each side, untill thuroughly cooked
  • *Tempeh Kebabs*
  • Combine all ingredients and allow to marinade for at least 30 minutes
  • Skewer each tempeh strip lenghtwise with a soaked bamboo Skewer and grill for about 5 minutes on each side, untill thuroughly cooked
  • *Dipping Sauce*
  • Combine all ingredients, emulsify and place in a bowl
  • *Lettuce Wraps*
  • Carefully remove chicken, shrimp, and tempeh from skewers and lay out on a platter
  • Lay out all other vegetables on a large platter with the bowl of dipping sauce in the middle
  • To Construct:
  • Take a lettuce leaf and place meat of choice along with vegetables inside the leaf and wrap the leaf around them
  • Dip in sauce
  • Enjoy!

    Thank you for this recipe. I love lettuce wraps. I love the fact that you are so healthy. I have been on a health food kick for about 1 month now. Im trying to cut down on the sweet stuff and drink smoothies instead. I love to bake so I just bake and give it away! M

    Thankyou, I actually just made this rescipe up off the top off my head yesterday, but I tried it out last night and it turned out soooooooooo amazing. Everythintg worked perfectly and all the flavours complimented eachother increadibly well. I was so proud of myself. It is a little challenging to make because there are so many proscess steps but everything turns out great and the dipping sauce was PHENOMINAL.

    I love lettuce wraps...we miss the 2 great Vietnamese restaurants we had in Denver that made the Vietnamese style skinny eggrolls that you wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves with all the condiments - GOOD STUFF...thanks for sharing your recipe! I'd love to try it.
