How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Put dried apples, apricots, and Craisins in a pot with kasha, water, apple cider, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  • Bring contents of pot to boil and stir until mixture is creamy.
  • Add the apple butter and stir until well blended. Remove from heat.
  • Blend in raisins, flour, almonds, coconut, egg replacer, baking powder, apple sauce, brown sugar, and maple syrup to pot, stir until well combined.
  • Place mix in two well greased 9 x 13 inch pans.
  • Bake 25 minutes.
  • Cut immediately, place bars on cooling rack.
  • These bars can be made in bulk and frozen for future use

    Craisins are just dried cranberries and if you don't have an egg replacer and don't have issues with egg you can use a regular egg. Otherwise you can use 1 tsp of cornstarch dissolved in 2 Tbsp cold water.

    I prepare the egg replacer in all my recipes unless I state that it's dry. Sorry for the confusioN!

    these sound great. It's always a problem finding something to eat in a mall or out shopping that doesn't contain wheat. So these sound perfect..A question? do you mix the egg replacer with water or use it dry?
