Baked Custard

- 3 cups milk shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 6 tablespoons granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- nutmeg shopping list
How to make it
- If your electric skillet does not have a rack equip with one.
- Scald 2-1/2 cups milk in top of a double boiler.
- In a large bowl slightly beat eggs then add sugar, salt, vanilla and remaining milk and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Quickly and stirring rapidly add to scalded milk then pour immediately into 6 custard cups that have been warmed by rinsing in hot water.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg then place cups on rack in skillet and pour 3 cups hot water and 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar around them.
- Cover skillet and set control at 400 and bake 18 minutes.
