Well, I have made heaps of beer breads and I can't see why this one wouldn't be any good. I reckon putting a heap of fats (cheese and pepperoni) into it, instead of something a little drier like ham, would make it sufficiently doughy to prevent it cooking. Anyhow, I reckon the touch with the butter is a wholesome thing to do. I will try it next time the friends and I are impressing each other. Thanks.

I changed the recipe some by adding diced pepper-jack cheese and pepperoni, so I'm not going to rate it. It did not cook all the way through, even though I let it cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The flavor was good, but it just wasn't cooked enough. Maybe it had too much fat with the added ingredients. The texture is more like a biscuit than bread. I will try to make it without alterations next time.

OHHHH this sounds yummy. I make beer bread quite often but honestly had not thought to put herbs in it but you have inspired me and I am going to make up a loaf this weekend for the holiday as we love our bread in this household. Thanks so much for posting
