A simple, fudgy almond brownie bar made with a silken tofu and brown sugar base. Great for parties where allergies are a problem!

Ingredients
  • 150 g semisweet chocolate, melted
  • 400 g silken tofu
  • 80 g margarine
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 150 g blend of soy, rice and buckwheat flours
  • Pinch salt
  • 60 g slivered almonds (optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 355°F. Grease bottom only of a 9” pan.
  2. Using a food processor, beat chocolate, tofu, margarine and sugar until very well blended and creamy.
  3. Mix flours and salt. Blend into the creamy mixture by hand until just blended.
  4. Bake 25-30 minutes, cool completely in pan.

Those sound great, most of the vegan brownie recipes I have seen must be served cold, otherwise they taste weird or fall apart. I'll forward this on to my Celiac Dad.


Sounds really great! I don't use margarine(it's scaaares me) but will have to make these with olive oil.
