How to make it

  • Trim fat off pork chops; heat 1 tablespoon of oil in skillet and brown pork chops on both sides.
  • Saute garlic for 1 minute being careful not to burn it, add to chops.
  • Combine oil, sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper.
  • Place chops back in skillet and pour sauce over them.
  • Cover tightly.
  • Simmer 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoons water if needed.
  • Remove chops to platter.
  • Stir in cornstarch dissolved in water.
  • Cook until thickened.
  • Pour over chops and serve over noodles or rice...
