Fried Green Beans Recipe
This is so easy yet so good. Another recipe I obtained from the Printey Estate in Forney, Texas in 2001. I love this recipe. Yummy

Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh green beans snapped and cleaned
  • 1/4 pound salt pork
  • 1 medium white onion chopped
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1-teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4-cup water

Directions
  1. Fry salt pork in skillet.
  2. Remove salt pork after there is at least 2 tablespoons grease in skillet.
  3. Fry onions in grease until translucent then add green beans and garlic.
  4. Cook and stir frequently on medium high heat for about 5 minutes.
  5. Turn to simmer and cook 15 minutes longer.
  6. Stir occasionally and add water if needed.

Instead of using the salt pork, use strips of bacon cut up and don't remove it.
