Onion- Stuffed Steak Recipe
Have a retro party and use this steak recipe. Serve with mashed potatoes. It's the kind of meal that will never go out of style

Ingredients
  • 4 6 to 8 oz. boneless beef top loin steaks (3/4 to 1 inch thick)
  • 11/2 cups chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup merlot ( or any other red wine you would like)
  • 2 TBSP soy sauce
  • 1 8oz pkg fresh mushrooms, quartered
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine

Directions
  1. Slice a pocket in one side of each steak,cutting almost ,but not all the way;to the other side; set aside
  2. In large skillet cook the onion&garlic in butter until onions are tender.Stir in the celery salt and pepper. Stuff pockets with onion mixture;skewer closed. Mix wine and soy sauce; brush on steaks.
  3. Grill steaks over med. high heat or coals, until desired doneness,turning once halfway through grilling.
  4. Meanwhile in large skillet cook mushrooms in remaining 1/4 cup butter until tender. Serve steak with mushrooms.
