Onion- Stuffed Steak

- 4 6 to 8 oz. boneless beef top loin steaks (3/4 to 1 inch thick) shopping list
- 11/2 cups chopped onion shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 1/4 tsp celery salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/4 cup merlot ( or any other red wine you would like) shopping list
- 2 TBSP soy sauce shopping list
- 1 8oz pkg fresh mushrooms, quartered shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine shopping list
How to make it
- Slice a pocket in one side of each steak,cutting almost ,but not all the way;to the other side; set aside
- In large skillet cook the onion&garlic in butter until onions are tender.Stir in the celery salt and pepper. Stuff pockets with onion mixture;skewer closed. Mix wine and soy sauce; brush on steaks.
- Grill steaks over med. high heat or coals, until desired doneness,turning once halfway through grilling.
- Meanwhile in large skillet cook mushrooms in remaining 1/4 cup butter until tender. Serve steak with mushrooms.
